OntarioMD signs new agreement with the Province:
Physicians will gain better access to health information through electronic medical records
OntarioMD has been in discussions with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) to define a new EMR program agreement to follow the agreement which ended on March 31, 2015. We are pleased to announce that we have a new agreement effective August 1, 2015. We appreciate the impact that the length of time between agreements has had on office management and planning by physicians.
The new EMR Agreement does not include any payments or incentives to physicians. For physicians who are in a New Adopter Program, payments will continue to the end of their individual agreements. Any future discussions related to incentives or payments for EMR services will take place between the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ontario Medical Association (OMA).
OntarioMD has been very successful in supporting physicians in the selection, implementation and adoption of EMRs. A total of 11,650 physicians are enrolled in our programs. OntarioMD has a proven track record of developing and implementing award-winning connectivity to EMRs in its Hospital Report Manager (HRM) and eNotifications applications. The new program activities OntarioMD will be undertaking will support physicians to realize more benefits from the use of their EMRs.
